I recently watched the Paterno HBO movie with Al Pacino portraying Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. As a Penn State alumni, my mouth was agape the entire movie — I was riveted. The film was very well done but it definitely re-opened some wounds about the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal that I had mostly tried to bury deep in my memory.
As someone who has seen countless interviews and videos of JoePa over the years, I was struck by how well Al Pacino pulled off his portrayal of Paterno. After a few minutes, my brain stopped seeing Pacino on screen and just saw Paterno.
